What if i help you to mod emerald, ( it think the same tiles would be cool ) and in the way of moding you will teach me and with more and more experience i would do more work, and just that would be cooperative work, and faster. There currently are other online pokemon MMOs that have custom tiles/allow easy implementation of custom tiles, but not PokeMMO. Afaik, the engine that PokeMMO only uses the FireRed rom to display the graphics movement positions, trainers, wild pokemon encounters, etc are all done by the PokeMMO engine. Honestly, until the devs are willing to make it as easy to replace tiles in the game (right now, you can only edit the ROM itself) as replaing the sprites, I wouldn't expect to see any graphics patches anytime soon. After finding the tiles, I always have to change the palettes, find the best position to insert them in the game, resize, etc. Probably the most time consuming step is getting new tiles (whether by finding them on the internet, editing tiles found on the internet, or drawing new tiles). Remaping includes the pixel art as well as movement positions.Ĥ. ![]() As mentioned above, changing 1 tile usually changes everything. ![]() A lot of time spent moving tiles around in the tileset and trying to fit tiles in a very small sized tileset.ģ. Overwriting just 1 tile on top of an existing tile would result in every single of that very tile to be messed up in the entire game. Replace every tileset Even more time consuming. Very limited in what colors can be used and # of palettes = a lot of time spent choosing appropriate color palettesĢ. Replace every color palette in Emerald Really time consuming. To give you an idea of the work I'd have to do to update Hoenn's graphics, I'd have to:ġ. An insane amount of work goes into creating ips patches (FireRed took me several months). Moreover, the Emerald rom is completely different from the FireRed rom (tileset size is different, the artstyle is entirely different). There aren't many building tiles out there that are consistent with the artstyle I used for the FireRed patch. But each time I restart the emulator I have to reapply the patch again cause it reverts back to Japanese.I'm reluctant to do so due to lack of quality custom tiles available online. However I tried using "Emulicious" and attach the patch with the emulator and it works just fine. ips file as the same as the ROM file, but the ROM still is in Japanese and not English. I have retroarch and I just tried doing what you specified with renaming the. ![]() With emulicious use the 'Apply patch' option from the menu. I didn't think if the link was necessary, I specified that I got the patch from this site? Double clicking on the IPS patch does not show the ROM I downloaded and placed it in the same file as the IPS patch. I meant IPS patch not IPS patcher, that is the same link where I got the patch which included the IPS patch. ![]() Usually it is helpful to provide some sort of link so people know what you are talking about, is it not? Are you referring to ? Because that download includes an IPS patch, but not an IPS patcher. I have the ips patcher in the same folder as the ROM, but it shows the folder as empty, but there is supposed to be a ROM file in there? Anyone know of a solution to this? I'm not asking for a ROM of the game cause I already have it, just why is this issue happening? I think I had this happen before when trying to patch a game, but it would not show the ROM file when trying to apply the patch? gg file for the Lunar game that is in Japanese works fine with the emulator that I have, but when I double click on the ips patcher it won't recognize any of the Lunar ROMs that I found even the badly translated English ones. Sometimes I would find ROMs of the game prepatched to read in English, but they are in horrible Engrish or have glitchy text mixed with Japanese for no reason. I downloaded a translation from this site which comes with a ips patcher, but it will not recognize any of the ROMs I found on the internet. I'm not certain if this is the correct place to ask this, but I found a ROM of the game Lunar - Sanposuru Gakuen online and I want to play it in English.
